Jeanne Hacke welcomes you to her newly reopened B&B at Kettle’s Cottage, near Cambridge.
Kettle's Cottage is a Grade II listed, 17th century thatched cottage in picturesque Great Wilbraham, a few minutes from the A11 and A14. It is convenient for the university City of Cambridge, for Newmarket, home of horse-racing, and with access to East Anglia, the Midlands, and London. For sport enthusiasts the Olympic Village will be easily accessible via the M11. There is an excellent train service between Cambridge and London.

Accommodation for visitors is in a self-contained annexe, with a bedroom with twin beds, a sitting-room (both with TV), a shower room, and kitchen with tea- and coffee-making facilities, fridge and microwave oven. Breakfast is served in the main house. The annexe has internet access, and a sofa bed in the sitting room will provide extra accommodation by arrangement. There is also a small sunny patio with a garden table and chairs, and safe off-road car parking. Dogs are welcomed.

The accommodation is particularly suitable for those wishing to stay several nights – a minimum of two nights is requested. Longer stays can be arranged. It is not suitable for those with serious mobility problems, as the bedroom is upstairs and the stairs are steep and narrow.
The Carpenters’ Arms, two minutes walk away, has a gourmet restaurant and there are other excellent pubs in neighbouring villages.

The beautiful Fenland city of Ely, with its magnificent cathedral, is within easy reach and there are four notable National Trust properties – Ickworth, Wimpole Hall and Farm, Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen – not far away. There are several nature reserves within range – notably Thetford Forest and Welney, where thousands of Bewick swans overwinter – and for golfing enthusiasts there are also three excellent golf courses within a few miles.
